The Papers from the H.V. Greenough Collection is a small part of a larger gift of more than 700 acetate records and tapes Greenough recorded and left to the Library of Congress upon his death. The Greenough Collection includes materials from Technichord Records, a recording company he founded in Brookline, Massachusetts, as well as his personal papers. Included in the papers are business and financial records, correspondence, music programs, pamphlets, recording notes, and one photograph.

E. Power Biggs was born in Essex, England, on March 29, 1906. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He began to concertize in the United States in 1930, and by 1937 had become an American citizen. By 1960, he was a well-known recitalist, broadcaster, and recording artist with Columbia Studios. H.V. (H. Vose) Greenough, Jr., (1912-1976) was the founder and owner of Technichord Records, a small recording company in Brookline, Massachusetts. Greenough graduated from Harvard University, served in the Navy, and in the early 1950s worked for the Haydn Society in Vienna, Austria, as chief recording engineer. After teaching acoustics at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, Greenough returned to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to work as a consultant. He died in1976 at the age of 64. ...
